As humanity has evolved, so has society. I view society as an evolving organism with its own rules and structures. It can be hostile (for its own defense) towards both the biological (pathogens, criminal behaviour) and the intellectual (new ideas, changing concepts of personal freedom).

A city streetscape is where you can see society at its most garish, extravagant, at its most monstrous. Painting a picture of it all, you must bring at least some of the 10,000 details — the speeding cars, the diverse architecture, street signs, traffic lights, advertising blurb, bitumen streets, reflections off glass, the noise — and somehow make it one thing.

These streetscapes are my attempt to bring together different aspects of the life we lead and somehow make them cogent.
