Row upon row of houses. What goes on behind those doors, those windows? Dramas, dances or just drudgery. What thoughts, what fantasies, what desires, tears and despair enact themselves in there, isolated and hidden as they are?

Look anywhere inside and you’ll find the germ of a picture. Whether it’s a window, stove, toilet, the floor, the ceiling, the kitchen sink — all these things have their own quality. My job is to appreciate the mundane, the everyday, and find the forgotten quality which gives it life and meaning. As much as part of the universe as you or me.
